3 Days Gorilla & Golden Monkey Trekking

You’ll be picked up at the airport for your transfer to Musanze via Gorilla Guardians for enchanting cultural experience, you’ll enjoy a cultural dances and drumming, try your hand at bow and arrow, watch a local prepare herbal mixture and step into the traditional dwelling of the local king. After an early breakfast, we will drive to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters to be allocated a gorilla tracking group at 7am. You will get a briefing by your trackers, and then you start the amazing adventure of Gorilla trekking.
The tracking / trekking can entail some thorough climbing as well as hiking although when you come face to face with the tranquil yet potent Mountain Gorillas, watching them only a few meters away from you observing the group, the baby with the mothers, the gorillas partaking their everyday routine just right in front of you is all very overwhelming experience.

On this day, spend this morning searching in the lush vegetation at the foot of Mount Sabyinyo for a beautiful little creature found only in the high-altitude forests of Virunga Mountain Chain. You’ll track the monkeys with a guide and you will spend an hour with them, once you locate the monkeys (a Troup of 50 or more members), you will often need to follow them as they are often on the move jumping from tree to tree with their long tails which is really entertaining but a little difficult to photograph! We recommend setting your camera to a fast shutter-speed to allow for low light in the dense undergrowth and to better your chances of capturing the golden monkeys on film. After the experience you’ll be transferred to Kigali to connect with your international flight back home.
